Coronavirus COVID-19 Update

As the Coronavirus COVID-19 situation evolves, Avery Berkel is taking active measures to ensure the safety of our employees and customers around the world.

The Avery Berkel leadership team is holding daily video-meetings as the global health crisis evolves, including latest government advice for all countries. Our focus is the safety of our employees, and to minimise the spread of infection, with home working being established where possible and shift patterns for both office and production staff being evaluated and implemented.

All our teams have been made aware of the Government guidelines on prevention, hygiene and cleaning and regular workplace sanitisation discipline minimises the risk to both our employees, customers and general public.  We continue to provide advice, guidance and where possible the appropriate protection and disinfection equipment for our field service technicians and office based employees.

We have ceased business travel between countries and localised travel is restricted to business critical activities. Additionally, we have removed all unnecessary site visits, group events, and meetings from our business calendar until further notice and continue to review how we can otherwise limit personal contact in the event of increased risk.  

We are committed to supporting our customers during this difficult time, with our business continuity measures designed to minimise disruption. This is focussed on both the manufacture of our products and the After-Market support, maintenance and service to maximise business continuity of our customers.

Our UK assembly plant is fully operational, with considerably higher stocks of components held in our warehouse due to our recent Brexit contingency planning and also our advanced planning for Chinese New Year. We are tracking the production status of all of our partners and all of our component suppliers in areas significantly impacted by the spread of the virus and all have either re-opened their factories and are manufacturing product, or are producing at normal levels. We have recently placed additional purchase orders to raise inventory levels should there be any longer term impact or delays in the supply chain in future. 

We have optimised stock levels in both the field and our central warehouses, and have contingency plans to operate a cover system that enables us to deliver field service with a reduced operational workforce should it be necessary. Our essential customer service colleagues are set up for home working and therefore service call management can be delivered remotely as required, thus providing operational resilience.    

We will continue to monitor developments and will provide updates as appropriate. We are confident our business continuity plans will maximise the safety of our employees and customers whilst minimise business disruption to our valued customers worldwide during this global health crisis.
